Italian excellence is the theme of the new initiative in collaboration with Parmigiano Reggiano, which will take place at Fidenza Village in October. A series of events and activities that will give customers the opportunity to discover some of the iconic products of Italian gastronomy, as reported in the official press release:
“In the heart of Italy’s Food Valley, where culinary traditions have been passed down for centuries and the land is synonymous with authenticity, Fidenza Village – one of the 12 Villages of The Bicester Collection – celebrates one of its most treasured icons: Parmigiano Reggiano, a symbol of Made in Italy and a global ambassador of taste.
Strategically located just outside Parma and less than an hour from Milan, Fidenza Village is nestled in a region that spans the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, and Modena – widely regarded as the birthplace of Italy’s finest food products. This is where DOP and IGP delicacies such as Prosciutto di Parma, Culatello di Zibello, Salame Felino, and of course, Parmigiano Reggiano originate. Parma, at the heart of Emilia, is recognized as the capital of the Food Valley and a UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy.
Parmigiano Reggiano boasts a thousand-year history, dating back to the Middle Ages when Benedictine monks began producing a cheese that could stand the test of time, using milk from monastery-raised cows and salt from the Salsomaggiore salt mines. As early as 1351, Giovanni Boccaccio mentioned it in The Decameron as a symbol of abundance and pleasure. In 1612, Duke Ranuccio I Farnese of Parma officially established its designation of origin, laying the foundation for the protection of a product now recognized as a DOP at the European level.
This October, Fidenza Village invites guests on a journey of taste with “Sapori Stellati”, a project that blends fine dining, culture, and hospitality in a unique and welcoming architectural setting. Two exclusive dinners, on 9 and 10 October, will feature Michelin-starred chefs Giancarlo Morelli and Gennaro Esposito, celebrated interpreters of Italian cuisine. Parmigiano Reggiano will be the central theme of their creative menus, from starter to dessert.
Originally from Bergamo, Giancarlo Morelli opened his Michelin-starred restaurant Pomiroeu in Seregno in 1993. Today, he leads six restaurants, including Morelli and Bulk Mixology Food & Bar at Hotel VIU Milan. He is known for his elegant yet straightforward cuisine that combines tradition, innovation, and conviviality, as well as for his commitment to sustainability.
Starting from 11 October, the Village will host a series of guided tastings in its restaurants, offering guests the chance to explore the different aging stages of Parmigiano Reggiano – 24, 26, and 40 months – in a unique sensory and cultural experience enriched by expert tasters and special moments with master cheesemakers.
But the experience goes beyond taste: Fidenza Village, a shopping destination with over 120 Italian and international brands, also offers guided tours of local dairies, where visitors can witness the art of Parmigiano Reggiano production – from milk processing to aging. It’s a rare opportunity to immerse oneself in tradition and discover the craftsmanship that makes this cheese truly one of a kind.
With exclusive services such as personal shopping, a luxury coach from Milan, the welcome space “The Apartment” and a curated offer spanning fashion, art, and lifestyle, Fidenza Village confirms its role as a destination where shopping meets culture and five-star hospitality.
Promoted in collaboration with the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, the Sapori Stellati initiative celebrates the Consortium’s 91st anniversary and reinforces Fidenza Village as a reference point for those seeking authentic and refined experiences in the Food Valley.”
In view of this project promoting Made in Italy products, Hotel VIU Milan decided to join the Fidenza Village Team, not only with the participation of Chef Giancarlo Morelli, who will be the star of one of the two special dinner, but also by reserving special treatment for Guests who wish to participate in the initiatives.
