Milan Design Week 2026<\/strong> is set to once again transform the city into the world\u2019s largest international design laboratory. From April 20 to 26, Milan will become a meeting point for designers, companies, architects, cultural institutions, and enthusiasts from around the globe. Alongside the Salone del Mobile, the Fuorisalone, spread throughout the city streets, continues to represent the beating heart of innovation and experimentation in contemporary design.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Theme: \u201cBeing Project\u201d<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This year, the theme of the Salone del Mobile focuses on the role of people in the creative process, under the slogan: \u201cBeing Project<\/strong>.\u201d Design is presented as a continuously evolving journey, capable of transforming the relationship between people, objects, and the environment.<\/p>\n

The theme encourages viewing a project not only as a final result but as a process shaped by research, dialogue, mistakes and transformations. In today\u2019s fast-paced world, design becomes once again a space for reflection and for connecting ideas, materials, and culture.<\/p>\n

The visual identity of the event is represented by metaphysical and minimalist architectures, symbolizing the initial stage of the project, when thought begins to take shape through drawing and imagination.<\/p>\n

In this way, the city transforms into an open platform connecting creativity, business, and research, further reinforcing Milan\u2019s role as an international capital of design.<\/p>\n

Fuorisalone 2026<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

During Milan Design Week 2026<\/strong>, the city will once again host hundreds of Fuorisalone events open to the public. Some of these have become true landmarks of the city\u2019s calendar: the Isola district will celebrate 10 years of its Design Festival<\/strong> with the theme \u201cTEN: The Evolving Now<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>, a journey exploring historic formats and new collaborations.<\/p>\n

Along Via Tortona, several initiatives will come to life: from Tortona Rocks \u2013 Design to Change Everything<\/em><\/strong>, featuring a program of installations, research, and experimentation, to Tortona Design <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 \u201cTHINKING BETTER, Look Back to Shape the Future<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>, where materials, forms, and relationships become the starting point for more conscious design, one that puts people at the center and focuses on designing better, not more.<\/p>\n

Moving towards the city center, the Porta Venezia Design District 2026<\/strong> will present the theme Design is Act<\/em><\/strong>, inspired by the thought of Tom\u00e1s Maldonado, where design is presented as an act of responsibility capable of connecting memory, knowledge and transformation.<\/p>\n

Not far from Porta Venezia, the Durini Design District<\/strong> will host Design Hospitality \u2013 Milan Style<\/em><\/strong>, which brings together design, the city and the culture of hospitality.<\/p>\n

These are just a few of the events that will animate Milan during Design Week, days in which the entire city transforms: historic palaces, courtyards, showrooms, museums, and galleries all become exhibition spaces. The Fuorisalone is not simply a fair, but a widespread system that engages the entire city and its citizens.<\/p>\n

The debut of the Fuorisalone Passport<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The big news of this edition is the Fuorisalone Passport<\/strong>, a digital system introducing a completely new way to access Design Week events.<\/p>\n

The platform allows users to register just once, receive a personal QR Code, and enter events without filling out additional forms. From a smartphone, it\u2019s also possible to track your journey through installations and exhibitions, without downloading any app.<\/p>\n

The Passport is debuting in a pilot phase at the Brera Design District, already involving 40 events that have joined the project. This innovation represents an important step toward smarter management of events and visitor flows, which have been steadily increasing in recent editions of Design Week.<\/p>\n

In this contemporary atmosphere, many professionals and design enthusiasts will choose to experience Milan, the international capital of design.
